Study the palace
Resolve the shape in Creative and prepare the block-by-block guide for the Survival build.
A journey to Mars. A palace made of glass.
Every block gathered and placed by hand.

First, I have to get to Mars. Then I have to build a home for someone who experiences every moment at once.
A Clock For No One is an artwork in Minecraft by Andrew David Baron, recreating Dr. Manhattan’s glass palace from Watchmen. The work begins with a Survival journey to Mars and continues through the gathering, crafting and placing of thousands of glass blocks.
The palace takes its form from Dave Gibbons’s graphic novel drawings. Pink and magenta glass frame amber cups, nested gears and slender spires. A custom Dr. Manhattan skin places the builder inside the reference.
The current palace is a Creative prototype. Its schematic grew through studies of the comic’s changing perspectives, from the paired cups at the equator to the fine needles inside the clockwork. The Survival build is still ahead.

Begin in Survival. Learn what the journey requires, gather resources and reach the Martian surface.
Gather and place every block manually. Planned AI telemetry will document materials, time and progress.
Each gameplay session will contribute images and words to a growing comic. Memories, the work of the present and imagined futures share the page. Selected stills and excerpts from Andrew’s narration will follow the journey to Mars and the construction of the palace.
The opening prologue uses actual Creative prototype screenshots. New chapters will extend the story downward as the project unfolds.
